Consumer Product Safety Commission to Hold Public Hearing
Topic: Feasibility of 100ppm Children's Product Lead Content Limit
On February 16, 2011, The Consumer Product Safety Commission will hold a public hearing to review the feasibility of meeting the 100 ppm lead content limit for children's products.
Section 101(a) of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) provides that, as of August 14, 2011, children's products may not contain more than 100 parts per million (ppm) of lead unless the CPSC determines that this limit is not technologically feasible. The public hearing will be conducted to receive feedback from any / all interested parties about this issue.
The hearing will begin at 10am EST on February 16 and will be concluded same day. The hearing will be available via live webcast at http://www.cpsc.gov/webcast. Registration is not necessary to view the webcast.
