Chinese New Year will be celebrated between February 2 and February 7, 2011.
Historically, space is tight in the weeks leading up to the holiday and can continue into the weeks after as well.
Liberty and its origin partners suggest all importers review their logistics programs carefully at this time. Target both air and ocean shipments that will be ready to ship over the next month and arrange bookings with our office in advance to avoid delays at origin. Also, contact your vendors to confirm when they will be closing and plan a schedule to arrange pick up and deliveries prior to the holiday.
It is also suggested to review shipments that are scheduled to arrive at destination during Chinese New Year to ensure all documents required for Customs and carrier releases are in house before factories close for the holiday.
