Chocolate Cinnamon Heart Cookies
Ingredients
125 ml Butter, room temperature 180 ml Sugar 2 ml Salt 125 ml Flax flour, brown or golden 2 ml Pepper, finely ground 1 Egg, large 125 ml Milk 500 ml All purpose white flour 7.5 ml Baking powder 80 ml Cocoa, sifted 180 ml Chocolate chips, mini 5 ml Cinnamon 60 ml Icing sugar 10 ml Milk 35 g Red sprinkles 1. Cream the butter and sugar. Blend in the salt, flax flour, and pepper. 2. Add the egg and milk. Mix until all ingredients are well blended. 3. Sift the flour, baking powder and cocoa together. Stir in the chocolate chips. Fold into wet ingredients. 4. Cover and refrigerate while you make the glaze. 5. To make the glaze, in a small bowl stir the cinnamon, icing sugar and milk together until smooth. 6. Lightly flour the counter and roll the dough to the thickness of the chocolate chips. 7. Cut with a small heart shaped cookie cutter. Gather remaining dough together, roll and cut. Repeat until all of the dough has been used. 8. Lay on a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush with glaze and top with red sprinkles. 9. Bake in an oven preheated to 375F for 10 to 12 minutes. Click here for nutrition information and a printer friendly version of this recipe. |
