Sky Arts Ignition: Futures Fund 

 

IdeasTap, a not-for-profit organisation that helps young people break into the arts and creative industries , has teamed up with Sky Arts to give three bursaries of £30,000 each to individual emerging artists from any discipline.

 

To assist with the application process, they will hold a free Q&A session with industry experts on Tuesday 20th December at the Science Gallery in Dublin in order to make the funding as accessible to as many young creatives aged 18-30 as possible.

The Seoul International Music Competition  

 

The Seoul International Music Competition is held annually for the categories of piano, violin, and voice, in a rotating sequence, with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges among nations through music, and supporting talented young musicians from all over the world.

The category for 2012 competition is violin and the event will be held from 18th to 29th in Seoul.

The European Piano Teachers' Association Piano Festival

EPTA Ireland will hold its first Piano Festival to mark EPTA Ireland's 30th birthday.

The aim of the festival is to create an annual event that celebrates the wonderful work that piano students and teachers are doing throughout Ireland, with a particular focus this year on the second level school student.

Events will take place on Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th February 2012 in the Kevin Barry Room of the National Concert Hall, Dublin.

The closing date for all competitions and concert nominations is Monday December 19th 2011.

The 36th Getxo International Jazz Festival

Call for Applications

The Getxo International Jazz Festival is held each July in the coastal town of Getxo, in the Basque region of Spain. Well known International performers join local groups at this multicultural event, bringing together a great diversity of musical styles and backgrounds.

A Groups Competition is held in parallel to the festival. Following an application process, four groups will be selected to perform at the 2012 festival between 4st and 8th of July.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 1pm, 18th of February.
