Music Network Tour Jazz Thought-Fox 22 - 26 October
This October, jazz quintet Thought-Fox, winner of Music Network's Young Musicwide Award in 2010, brings its singular take on jazz on tour to Tinahely, Clifden, Dublin and Castlebar. Music Network Concerts 
Donegal fiddle trio, Fidil; Aidan O'Donnell, Ciarán O'Maonaigh and Damien McGeehan bring their diverse and ground-breaking use of fiddles and depth of tunes from the Donegal fiddle tradition to Bray on Saturday 8th October. 
The award winning Cappa Ensemble, a quartet of outstanding young artists, Bartosz Woroch (violin), Adam Newman (viola), Brian O'Kane (cello), Michael McHale (piano), will perform classical and contemporary works on the 14th and 15th October in Sligo and Dundalk. 
Ensemble Avalon, a fresh and dynamic piano trio featuring three of Ireland's finest internationally accomplished soloists and chamber musicians, Ioana Petcu-Colan (violin), Gerald Peregrine (cello), Michael McHale (piano), will perform a classical programme on 24th October in Wexford and 26th October in Tullamore. Sabine Ducrot (flute) and Michael Joyce (piano) a perform tour of Ireland in September and October presented with funding from the Music Network Performance and Touring Award.The Mike Nielsen Quartet is a new exciting acoustic quartet with some of the finest musicians on the music scene today: Boston born vocalist Ellen Demos; clarinetist, Brendan Doyle and percussionist Shane O'Donovan.
Five world-class musicians, presenting original works for brass, ingenious new arrangements and music by Irish composers, all brought together in an engaging and entertaining approach to the concert platform. 30th September - 24th November 2011 in Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Galway.
A rare opportunity to hear the intriguing collection of traditional Spanish songs "Canciones Españolas Antiguas", compiled by the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, and performed by soprano Deirdre Moynihan and guitarist Alec O' Leary. From 4th - 10th October 2011 in Limerick, Kerry, Wicklow and Cork.
Award-winning saxophonist and composer Alex Mathias joins forces with US critically acclaimed guitarist Jake Hertzog, presenting the audience with an unforgettable night of highly energetic original music, which draws from jazz, funk/fusion and many other influences. |

Louth Contemporary Music Society (LCMS) presents Metamorphoses, the second concert in the 'Sounds of the Silk Road" series that will take place at 8pm on Saturday 22 October 2011 in St. Peter's Church of Ireland Drogheda. The concert features the amazing Russian cellist Ivan Monighetti's 8 cello ensemble Celli Monighetti with special guest composer and pianist from Azerbaijan, Franghiz Ali-Zadeh. More details. |
