Campus Compact 2011 Annual Membership Survey Now Open

Campus Compact's Annual Membership Survey is now available online at http://www.compact.org/about/statistics/annual-membership-survey/.

Your institution's participation in this national survey is vital. We need your help so that North Carolina can continue to have one of the highest response rates in the nation!

ChecklistConducted each year since 1986, the survey is the most comprehensive and widely distributed review of service, service-learning, and civic engagement in higher education. Through this instrument, Campus Compact is able to calculate student and faculty involvement in service and service-learning, measure campus infrastructure for community engagement, understand faculty roles and rewards, determine alumni engagement, and receive valuable feedback about Campus Compact member services.

The results allow campuses to compare their progress with state and national trends and help all of us better articulate our case to elected officials, funders, and to the media. Your participation is key because it helps assure that your institution's commitment and dedicated resources towards service-learning and civic engagement are reflected in all our data.

For the best results, we urge primary institutional contacts to download the PDF version first, collect information from colleagues on campus, and then enter the institution's responses to the online survey. We also encourage you to review a list of Frequently Asked Questions that are available to assist anyone entering (or preparing) responses on behalf of their institution.

The deadline for completion of the survey is Friday, December 9, 2011.

President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

Honor RollDeadline is December 9, 2011.  Nominations received after the 5:00 p.m. EST deadline will not be considered.

Applications for the 2012 President's Honor Roll will be accepted in either or both categories for service performed during the 2010-2011 academic year:

  • General Community Service, which recognizes the quality, quantity, and institutional commitment to community service initiatives at a college or university.
  • Special Focus Area, which recognizes exemplary initiatives aligned with the President Obama's education and innovation priorities. The three special focus area categories are:
    • Promise Neighborhoods Model
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Summer Learning
    • For both categories, it is important to highlight the qualitative impact that your service programs have had on the community in addition to the quantitative data, such as the number of volunteers and the number of hours served.
