Have you Checked Out the New Website Yet? |
We launched our new website on August 19, 2011. The new format is designed to spotlight and celebrate the great civic engagement work taking place on our member campuses, in addition to providing information about our programs and services.
You can now go to the site anytime for the latest News, NC Calendar, National Civic Engagement Calendar and Jobs. As a result of the new and improved website, the Digest, the bi-monthly e-newsletter, will be less frequent and shorter. PLEASE VISIT THE WEBSITE REGULARLY!
We are especially excited about the "Engagement Matters" blog which will feature contributions from Presidents and Chancellors, civic engagement administrators, students and community partners. Visit the site each Monday for a new entry.
Again, we invite you to visit the website regularly for campus news, announcements and updates. Please send Leslie any items you would like posted.

Webinar: Using the Community Capitals Framework to Understand and Measure Community Impact |
Tuesday, September 27, 2011 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm (Central)
Do you want to better understand and report the impact that your campus-community partnerships are having on the quality of life in your community? Are you looking for a way to show how individual partnerships complement each other and contribute to plans to achieve greater overall community and institutional goals?
Community Capitals is a framework that facilitates planning for and measuring community or organizational change. It is currently used around the world by community development practitioners and by researchers of asset-based development. Cornelia B. Flora, one of the originators of this framework, will present the concepts of natural, cultural, human, social, political, financial and built capital and how they work together to sustain healthy ecosystems, economic security, and social well-being.
This webinar is the second in a series sponsored by California Campus Compact, Iowa Campus Compact, Kansas Campus Compact and Minnesota Campus Compact. Compacts in these states qualify for the discounted ticket rate; as do individuals from campuses that are members of national Campus Compact, but are do not have a state compact.
Registration and more information is available at: http://communitycapitals.eventbrite.com
