Resources for Earth Day
House of Bishops Teaching and Live Webcast

Earth Day is April 22, 2012. At the 196th Annual Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, a resolution was passed which commended  "A Pastoral Teaching on the Environment," from the Episcopal Church House of Bishops. The Chartered Committee on Environmental Ministry recommended that all clergy and congregants in the Diocese "read, mark and inwardly digest" its contents and heed its suggestions. The committee is available to assist with the teaching or with other environmental ministry-related programs. View additional resources from the committee and find contact information here.

In addition to the the Pastoral Teaching, the Episcopal Church will offer Earth Day coverage in the form of a live webcast at www.episcopalchurch.org, featuring experts in environment, poverty and religious leaders.  Experts will examine The Intersection of Poverty and the Environment on April 21 in a live webcast beginning at 10 am Mountain (9 am Pacific, 11 Central, noon Eastern). There is no charge for the program. Click here for more details.
