WLI PHILANTHROPIST OF THE YEAR 

United Way's Women's Leadership Initiative recognizes Philanthropist of the Year as a WLI woman who is active in the community, is a philanthropic leader in the Lehigh Valley, and demonstrates a personal commitment of time, talent and "treasure" to the best of her ability. The 2010 recipient is:

Barbara Diamant

Barbara Diamant has spent the last seven years helping to mobilize women to become powerful leaders and promote positive change in the lives of women and children in the LehighValley through United Way's WLI. Barbara has been an exceptional volunteer for WLI. 

Because of her strong belief in education and her passion to see women succeed, she was instrumental in initiating and creating the structure for the WLI cohort program. She was also a Signature Project Chair for seven years. Her responsibilities included the organization of all scholarships for child care workers; administration, preparation and review process of the Frances Hesselbein Scholarship and of the WLI Council Scholarships for women who have a commitment to community service.

Barbara completed her terms of service on the WLI Council last year. She continues to be dedicated to the Signature Project. Her passion, devotion, and concern for our students make her a role model for all women.
