Massachusetts Children's Alliance April Newsletter

April 23rd, 2012
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness month. It has been a busy time for MACA and member Children's Advocacy Centers. This spring promises to be a productive time for awareness and the fight against child abuse. Read below about our awareness campaign, CAC events, and MACA's statewide conference May 23rd!
OWCMACA proudly announces the official launch of its statewide
One with Courage campaign.

One with Courage Static Logo
One with Courage is a national campaign focused on helping communities and individuals respond to child sexual abuse.

The statistics are sobering: It is estimated that 1 out of 4 girls, and 1 out of 6 boys will be sexually abused before their eighteenth birthday; only 1 in 10 will tell.  With the simple question, "Are you the One?" the campaign challenges communities and individuals to take an active role and stand up for children.

With generous funding from the National Children's Alliance, MACA has partnered with the 11 CACs in the Commonwealth to roll out this campaign.  Look out for our billboards across Massachusetts, as well as television and radio spots, and let us know if you catch them on  Facebook.
