THE PATRICK CARNEY FOUNDATION AWARDS MACA  $1000!
The Patrick Carney Foundation awards MACA $1000 for services specifically in the New Bedford area! We look forward to working with the Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol County on this project. THANK YOU to the Patrick Carney Foundation for this generous grant.
MACA Fundraiser, Holiday 2008
MACA recently completed our successful Holiday 2008 Fundraiser, receiving $5,586.00 in donations! We were also honored to receive donations in memory of Dr. Robert and Patricia Horowitz, whose daughter, Jennifer Saniuk, serves on the MACA Board of Directors. Dr. Horowitz worked tirelessly on behalf of Children's Advocacy Centers in Ohio and also served as President for the Board of Directors for the National Children's Alliance. We are proud and grateful that his important legacy and work on behalf of abused children in Ohio and nationally is continuing.

April Events: Save the Date!

April is a particularly special month for causes important to MACA's work and marks National Child Abuse Awareness month, National Child Abuse Prevention month, Sexual Assault Awareness month and National Crime Victims Rights week. The following are some of the upcoming events sponsored by held by CACs or partner organizations during April:

  • April 2: Northwestern District Attorney's Child Abuse Awareness Month Kickoff Breakfast, Holyoke, MA
  • April 4: 4th Annual Race to Stop Child Abuse 5K Run/Walk (Berkshire County Kids' Place). Pittsfield, MA.
  • April 15: Victim Compensation Training (MACA/Family Advocacy Center at Baystate Children's Hospital). Holyoke, MA.
  • April 18: "Speak Up" Awareness Event (Children's Cove: the Cape and Islands CAC) at the British Beer Company. Hyannis, MA.
  • April 18: the Children's Advocacy Center of Suffolk County has runners in the 113th Boston Marathon.
  • April 23: MOVA Victim Rights Event. State House, Boston, MA.
  • April 29: Hampden County Victims' Rights Conference at Baystate Health Learning Center. Holyoke, MA
Children's Cove Highlight

MACA is privileged to have 11 Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs) in our membership. Click here for a complete program list. Through support of member organizations, the Chapter ensures that children and their families have access to high quality, comprehensive, specialized and culturally competent services of a Children's Advocacy Center.
