Senior IT Executives to Host 3Q11 Symposium

 

CHICAGO, IL--The ITSMF Board of Directors and Executive Office welcome you to Chicago, Illinois for the 3rd Quarter Symposium as we partner with National BDPA (NBDPA) during its 33rd National Technology Conference in Chicago. This meeting's agenda, NBDPA-supported workshops and noted speakers, will provide an opportunity for executives to draw on the experiences and knowledge of their peers, share business best practices and expose participants to relevant topics for IT industry leaders. During the NBDPA three-day conference, African-American IT professionals share experiences with their peers, while attendees take part in the career fair, explore the technology expo displays and participate in a wide array of workshops and seminars reflecting leading-edge technologies and strategies for IT professionals.

 

As part of our collaboration and partnership, ITSMF will lead two workshops entitled "The Technologist Imperative: Regaining Global Competitiveness Through Technology Innovation" and "The Technologist's Dilemma: Remaining Relevant in Today's Changing Technology Industry." The workshops descriptions:

 

"The Technologist Imperative: Regaining Global Competitiveness Through Technology Innovation"
This session will be a 90-minute, moderated panel session comprised of industry thought-leaders and ITSMF members who are responsible for leading innovation within their organizations. These senior-level Panelists will share real world experiences and provide an insider's perspective of how they have fostered a creative environment for innovation, as well as invested in building a pipeline of technical leaders of the future to maintain innovation capability. Attendees will walk away with insight into new strategies for building an innovation ecosystem that is short-term productive and long-term sustainable.

 

"The Technologist's Dilemma: Remaining Relevant in Today's Changing Technology Industry"
This 90-minute, moderated panel session is comprised of ITSMF members who are also experienced IT professionals. This panel of senior IT executives of color will share their personal strategies for maintaining technical relevance and offer advice to technologists for how to also maintain their deep technical expertise. Attendees will leave this session with ideas and strategies that they can immediately put into practice as a part of their personal development plan.

 

The ITSMF 3Q11 Symposium will culminate with the NBDPA Awards Gala where LaVerne H. Council, the Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Johnson & Johnson, will serve as the guest of honor and keynote speaker.
