Energy Department Announces $130M for ARPA-E
FCW reports ARPA-E's fourth round of funding opportunities will include projects for green electricity network integration and solar agile delivery of electrical power technology. The Department of Energy (DoE) released additional information for related STEM projects. This round of funding focuses on rare earth alternatives and breakthroughs in biofuels, thermal storage, grid controls, and solar power electronics.
How will Nintendo's launch of its new Wii console impact video game hardware?
CNET reports Nintendo announced yesterday it would release its newest console next year and also stated it would show a playable version, as well as talk about technical specifications, at E3 this June in Los Angeles. Read more.
Sony launches its First Tablet PCs Aimed at Apple and Gamers...
CNBC reports the new gadgets from Sony will use an operating system based on Android 3.0. One of the new models will have two screens. Sales of tablet devices are expected to quadruple to about 294 million units between 2011 and 2015, with almost half that made up by Android-based, according to research firm Gartner. The Conference Of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) is the nation's only multi-modal advocacy organization for minority professionals and businesses in the transportation industry. COMTO is in an unique position to be involved in and speak on behalf of minority professionals and businesses on the cutting edge of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), related challenges, and emerging transportation opportunities currently sweeping our nation. The 2011 Washington D.C. COMTO City Internship Program application deadline for qualified college students has been extended to Thursday, April 28th, 2011.
