iSchool Inclusion Institute (i3)

The iSchool Inclusion Institute (i3) is a bold new project headquartered at the University of Pittsburgh with the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. i3 is a series of summer institutes and projects designed to introduce all undergraduates, regardless of class standing.to the challenges and opportunities available within the Information Sciences. i3 aims to create the next generation of leaders to ensure that the Information Sciences discipline and professions reflect the face of the population. Our field needs the full spectrum of perspectives and creativity to address society's needs.
The Application Deadline is March 4, 2011.
Applications are reviewed and accepted/declined as they are received; therefore, prospective students should consider submitting their applications as soon as possible. Visit i3 on Facebook.

BETF - The American Honda Foundation approved a $25,000 grant proposal this quarter submitted by the BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) for NBDPA's SITES Program. In an email received late last week paraphrased by R. Wayne Hicks, BETF's Executive Director, "...American Honda Foundation's Board of Directors has decided to partner with NBDPA in its efforts of making a difference in the lives of our youth. In fact, the SITES program ranked number one out of the top 15 finalists! Not to mention there were over 500 other proposals we had to review for consideration this quarter..."
