LAUREL, MD--BDPA's Washington and Baltimore Chapters invite members and guests to attend next Thursday's EduSerc OPEN HOUSE and Holiday Celebration with family and friends--this year, an Apple iPad is one of our door prizes! Located just 20 miles north of Washington, D.C., EduSerc's Technology Center is based in Laurel, Maryland minutes away from Ft. Meade and less than an hour from Aberdeen, MD to the north; Joint Base Andrews (formerly Andrews AFB) and Ft. Belvoir, VA to the south. EduSerc's training and education facility is available for small businesses, consultants, veterans, and regional training for BDPA's annual IT Showcase participants and BDPA's High School Computer Competition (HSCC) training teams in direct support of projected technical job growth in this region.

BETF - The American Honda Foundation approved a $25,000 grant proposal this quarter submitted by the BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) for NBDPA's SITES Program. In an email received late last week paraphrased by R. Wayne Hicks, BETF's Executive Director, "...American Honda Foundation's Board of Directors has decided to partner with NBDPA in its efforts of making a difference in the lives of our youth. In fact, the SITES program ranked number one out of the top 15 finalists! Not to mention there were over 500 other proposals we had to review for consideration this quarter..." Updated BDPA Oracle Scholarship Announcement

Largo, Maryland--National BDPA, a organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide and advancing careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), is extending the BDPA-Oracle college scholarship application deadline to December 17, 2010.

BDPA student members may submit applications to win one of ten (10) $5,000 BDPA-Oracle college scholarships. College undergraduates with a STEM related major or students entering their undergraduate freshman year in 2011 are encouraged to apply.

The new application deadline is 11:59 PM EST, Friday December 17th, 2010. Students will directly be notified regarding the status of their applications. Oracle representatives will select each winner. The scholarship announcement is posted on the National BDPA website with a direct link to the scholarship details page.
