Washington, D.C. - BDPA-DC's High School Computer Competition (HSCC) program(left photo) under the direction of Mr. Lou Shack, is one of the area's longest running CS-STEM (Computer Science | Science Technology Engineering Math) programs for area youth. With its new training facility hosted by D.C. Courts System, participating high school students discover new trends within today's information, communications, and technology (ICT) fields of interest, learn how to leverage some of the latest web development applications, and hone their presentation skills to compete for national scholarships.

The Oracle Foundation (right photo) donated $50,000 in 2009 to qualified BDPA student members. Francisco Nunez (L) and TurKenya Herring (R) are BDPA's Washington, D.C. Chapter 2009 Oracle Scholars. Each will be graduating seniors in 2010 and currently serve as the Region's High School Computer Competition (HSCC) team co-captains. Annual dues for student memberships in BDPA are $25.00. Parents, teachers, and students may select here to join a local BDPA Chapter, participate in other available scholarship programs, apply for internships, and learn more about exciting STEM career opportunities.
