Barn Needs

bricks
Can you help?

Yep- we are a few bricks short of a load.

Do you have access to good old plain red bricks and / or sand?   We could sure use them.  Our current project around the barn is to install a brick walkway.  We need people to dig the walkway and install the bricks.
This would be a great group project.  Consider putting together a small team.

Getting this done before the spring rains would make life at the barn SWEET!

We do.
We need a new or good used vacuum cleaner to get rid of it too.   If you could provide this or stop by a local business and let them know of our need it would be a big help.

Happy New Year!
We are so thankful for our friends, family, volunteers, and supporters.  2008 was wonderful and we have so many good things planned for 2009. 31 riders participated in the riding program in 2008 and it would not have been possible without you--- thank you!

Sure Hands Lift System
It's coming!!
 Sure Hands Lift system
Great news!  In the next few weeks, we will be receiving the Sure Hands Lift System at the barn.  This system lifts a rider from a wheelchair or scooter, raises him or her, and then lowers the rider onto a horse.  We will now be able to expand our services to include those who otherwise would not be able to ride.  We are thankful to Linda Braund for generously donating this system.
Sure Hands Lift Systems  were first designed for use in the home but has expanded to recreational uses.  For more information visit their website----Sure Hands

 Christmas Party Fun
Puppet Show

Boy did we have a blast!  The food was great, the company awesome, and Becky, Lizzy, Lauren and Karin Knapp put on a puppet show to bring the barn down.
Calling all Volunteers!
Urgent
Our spring fundraiser will be a Golf Tournament and we need volunteers.  There will be many different ways to help. -  concessions, advertising, rules, signage,  finding sponsors, etc.

First off we need a committee to organize the jobs and get things moving.   Contact  Stacey  by January 10th to sign up. Help make this event a huge success!

Speaking of Volunteers--
Volunteers can record their hours in the log book in the tack room. The volunteer with the most hours each month wins a trail ride.  All volunteers win our hearts and deep appreciation.

Congratulations  Becky!
CertfiedInstructor                                              Becky Knapp

Becky Knapp, a volunteer of 3 years, has completed the NARHA Registered Instructor Certification program.  It is a very demanding and difficult program and we are so proud of her.  Beck will be teaching some morning and weekend classes for us.  Way to go Becky!
