What is MSSC?

The advanced manufacturing and fast-changing logistics industries of today and the future demand high-performance skills.

Applicable to all manufacturing sectors and all production occupations, the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council MSSC Certified Technician (CPT) certification provides training and assessments in the four foundational areas of the industry- safety, quality, manufacturing processes, and maintenance.

MSSC CLA/CLT credentials address the core competencies of higher skilled, front-line material handling workers (entry-level to first line of supervision) across the supply chain ─ from factories, to warehouses, to distribution centers to transporters.

The MSSC program also incorporates and emphasizes cross-functional employability skills such as communications, teamwork, customer awareness, workplace conduct and flexibility.

MSSC standards have been developed by industry experts with input from labor and educators and are nationally recognized certifications. The CPT is supported by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and is a key element of its comprehensive National Skills Certification System.
