Where is our Winter?
Can you believe this picture was taken just last week at one of our feature properties! Its hard to complain about all the gorgeous weather we have been experiencing here in the Bay Area, unless you happen to be a season pass holder at a ski resort in Tahoe. Unfortunately this unusually nice dry winter is not without a cost. The price is likely to be in the form of water restrictions this summer imposed by the local water districts. Our irrigation department is working closely with all the local water agencies to make sure we are aware of any impact restrictions may have on our accounts. Personal Profile
Martin has various licenses and certifications in horticulture, arboriculture, and irrigation. "I love landscaping, but I'm passionate about our organization delivering great service. We've earned the title Best In The Bay and we've worked for it. "One summer, my brother and I started cutting fire breaks for neighbors. Our mom would drive us to the jobs and pick us up for dinner. That's how we got started. We've been going at it ever since."
When Martin's not working he's thinking about work. Otherwise, he spends time with his amazing wife and two daughters. He loves fly fishing and mountain biking, skiing, water sports, art, photography, music, cooking, making wine/beer, building "things" like this Light, and yoga! "Getting the right people, in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing. That's what I do." Says Martin. He tends to simplify. As the President of a 160 employee company, he is entirely focused on running an organization that lets people do their jobs. "We have great people working for us and I trust them. They know what their jobs are and they are motivated to do them well." |

Cleary Bros was selected to renovate the garden for the Don Salvio Pacheco Adobe a historic adobe house in Concord. In 1834, Salvio Pacheco was awarded the Rancho Monte del Diablo Mexican land grant, including what is now known as Concord and parts of Pleasant Hill. On June 24, 1835, he completed this two-story adobe, the first building to be erected in Diablo Valley. This adobe building was last used as a drive through bank before it recently became the home of a wellness center for developmentally disabled adults run by Sister Mary Grace.
Cleary Bros was asked to convert an asphalt parking lot into a meditation garden for patients to relax. The design was led by Keller Mitchell & Co, Landscape Architects from Oakland. The design called for a tile lined fountain as the focal point of the garden that doubled as a screen to hide an office building next door.
