March, 2010

Greetings,

We are well on our way into spring. The rains have been great so far and our local resivoirs are filling up nicely. We hope to have a better summer season with regard to water use in landscape irrigation. We have been busy all winter long making sure that our client's irrigation systems are up and running perfect for the coming summer season.

Kikuyu Grass

Grass. What is it really? Its ugly this time of year and will be every year during it's dormant state in the winter. It's an annual grass that is closely related to Bermunda grass and even Bamboo. It is very invasive and can take over entire lawns fairly quicly and we can help you remove it and bring back a consistent looking green lawn. There are several approaches to its removal which we have mastered including manual removal, and sheet mulching. Let us take care of your Kikuyu problem.

Benefits of Mulch
creating organic mulch
At Cleary Bros., we manufacture our own mulch by recycling trimmings. This reduces the carbon footprint of commercial mulch and allows us to offer locally made organic mulch.

Organic mulch is made from living material, such as grass clippings, branches and leaves and has the following benefits:
  • as organic mulch decomposes, it produces nutrients that improve the soil and encourage earthworm activity
  • helps prevent weeds from growing
  • helps keep moisture in the ground and fights pests
  • improves the appearance of your garden

We offer a double grind mixture which is ideal for new plantings and high detail areas and a single grind for large areas.
Thank You!
