Hi ,

Hope you had a blast during the Fourth of July Weekend!

For our July newsletter, we keep you informed with free online databases from the Brooklyn Public Library. You can learn a new language or get great information for research papers. It's also not too late to find a fun summer program that specializes in poetry, leadership or science. See the fabulous programs that we learned about at the Brooklyn Public Library's Education Fair. We hope this issue will help you to stay productive and "in the grind" for the summer.

Stay Cool,
Jen

Education Fair
On June 23, 2010 Double Dutch Magazine participated in the Education Fair at the Central Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library in New York City. The purpose of the event was to highlight the library's online datebases. There are many online resources that can be accessed from a home computer with a Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) card.

For example, students can access magazine articles, photos and audio files for research papers. Fortunately, the resources are not just for students. There are online books and videos for kids and downloadable e-books for adults. Plus, you can teach yourself a new language and computer programs like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Illustrator. Most importantly, all of the resources are FREE with a BPL car. In this economy, there are still ways to educate yourself and save money.
