Thanks for coming to the Annual Dinner!

DEAR OLD TOWN NEIGHBOR,
There hasn't been much of a rest since the holidays blew by us.  True to form, Old Town barrells through winter head-on.  Thanks to the members and friends who joined us this past Thursday to celebrate a successful 2010 (not to mention forty years of  OTMRA) at a beautiful Annual Dinner held at the Preston Bradley Hall.

We now find ourselves bearing down for a record snowfall on Wednesday.  We'll get through this one too.  Then it's on to the Super Bowl, Valentine's Day, and the NCAA Tournement: All great reasons to come to Old Town in the winter.
$10,000 in Donations made to local organizations at Annual Dinner

The OTMRA Board of Directors voted to present four financial awards to neighborhood organizations at the 2011 Annual Dinner.  The awards were presented in equal $2,500 amounts.

The Near North Library Friends Association was represented by president Gail Shiner, who thanked OTMRA for past contributions and noted the 2011 donation will go to supporting a cyber-navigator positions for the branch located at 310 W. Division.

For the 10th year in a row, OTMRA also presented a check to the Lakeshore Sculpture Exhibit -- a public art initiative founded by 43rd Ward Alderman Vi Daley.  Keep your eyes open for a new piece of Public Art in Burton Place in May/June 2011!

Thanks to these deserving neighborhood organizations and institutions for their support and partnership in creating a better Old Town.
