DEAR OLD TOWN NEIGHBOR, 
Best wishes to you, your families & friends this holiday season.  Take some time to relax and enjoy the neighborhood.  You needn't go far for New Year's Eve -- just about every business in Old Town is hosting a New Years celebration!

If you're sitting on your hands thinking you just want to have a nice, quiet New Year's Eve; then Old Town in the place for you!  We've got it all -- whether it's theatre, comedy (Second CIty, Red Orchid, and Zanie's all have shows on the 31st and 1st), or our world-class dining.

Those headed out to holiday celebrations on New Year's Eve are encouraged to take advantage of the Chicago Transit Authority's annual "penny ride". It's a little more than four weeks away:  The Old Town Merchants and Residents Association Annual Dinner.

Old Town will be going downtown this year to the beautiful Preston Bradley Hall (pictured above).  If you haven't received your invitation, or would like an extra one to invite your own guests, please contact the office -- we've got extras for just that reason. 
Mark your calendars for a great way to kick off the year -- and the 40th anniversary of the Old Town Merchants and Residents Association:

A Red Orchid Extends The Iliad!
A Red Orchid Theatre, the storefront space located at 1531 N. Wells for over fifteen years is extending their current production of The Iliad.  This winter's adaptation of The Iliad penned by Emmy-nominated Craig Wright has received rave reviews including
this one by Tribune critic Chris Jones

This particular production of The Iliad was adapted especially for A Red Orchid Theatre's young, all-female cast, most of whom are members of A Red Orchid Theatre's youth ensemble.  

The production has gained well deserved publicity, so you should get your tickets as soon as possible.  THE SHOW CLOSES ON JANUARY 2ND.  Tickets are available at

CAPS MEETINGS
***There has been a change in the scheduling of CAPS Meetings.  CAPS Meetings will occur in the odd months only starting in January 2011.
 
Wednesday, January 5th, 6:30pm:  Beat 1821 at the Near North Library, 330 W Division for 43rd Ward residents between North Avenue and Division from LaSalle to Larrabee. 
 
Wednesday, January 5th, 3:00pm: Hospitality Sub-Committee at Shenanigans, 16 W. Division.  Attendance Required for all late-night liquor licensees.  All interested parties encouraged to attend.
