Difficult as it may be to believe, tomorrow it's going to be October. All this means is that we can look forward to the marathon coming down Wells Street, A social mid-way through the month, beautiful Fall weather on the Near-North Side, and of course Halloween!

Franklin Fine Arts International Picnic
On Saturday, September 26th Principal Carol Friedman and the families and friends of Franklin Fine Arts celebrated the new school year with their annual International Picnic. FFA enjoyed food donated by Old Town restaurants and were entertained by diverse musicians and the famous Jesse White Tumblers. Secretary of State Jesse White and Alderman Walter Burnett were in attendance. From 12pm to 3pm students, parents, teachers, and supporters dined outside and enjoyed the beautiful environs of Franklin Fine Arts.

CHICAGO MARATHON RUNS THROUGH OLD TOWN!
Wake up on Sunday, October 11th and join the crowds on Wells Street as we cheer on the runners of the Chicago Marathon. Let's show some Old Town Spirit! Organizers estimate that runners will be coming through Old Town form roughly 8am to 11am.
This year O'Briens restaurant will be serving breakfast at 8am as well as hosting a watering station. Just south of O'Briens, Old Town Merchants and Residents Association will be having our own cheering section. Call or email the office if you and your friends and family are interested in joining. We'll have t-shirts, cow bells, and banners!

OLD TOWN FALL SOCIAL AND DONATION CEREMONY AT ORSO'S! This October 15th members of the Old Town Merchants and Residents Association will be gathering for one of their regularly scheduled socials. These socials occur every other month throughout the year and are free for members. They are a time to meet new neighbors and catch up with the familiar faces of Old Town. Food and beverage are compliments of the host.
This month's social has a bit more in store than the usual though. . . Old Town Merchants and Residents Assoication will be donating $50,000 to area organizations. If you're a member of Old Town Merchants and Residents Association you're not going to want to miss this one! Call or email the office to make your reservation. October's Social will be at Orso's Italian Restaurant at 1401 N. Wells from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, October 15th.

MISS AMERICA DINES AT TRATTORIA ROMA!
While Laura Zalloni of Trattoria Roma is easily mistaken for a beauty queen, last week Roma played host to the real thing.
