Halloween at Franklin School
Remember when Halloween was hands-down the best time of year? The students at Franklin Fine Arts have been having a blast and the neighborhood has been reaping the benefits. As they have in the past, the students again decorated pumpkins and delilvered them to local businesses to spread their Halloween spirit. Take a stroll down Wells and stop in one of the restaurants or boutiques and you're sure to find one.
And if you were lucky enough to be at the corner of Evergreen and Wells at 10:00am this morning, you would've been treated to a costume parade featuring all the students in kindergarten through third grade. Take a look!

Old Town Social On Thursday, October 30th from 5pm to 7pm, members of the Old Town Merchants and Residents were hosted by Hans Kebritchi at SALUKI BAR AND GRILL, 1208 N. Wells St. It was a great event and gave the community an opportunity to meet neighbors -- new and old. Hans and his staff provided outstanding food and drink and a good time was had by all. Principal for a Day As part of Mayor Daley's commitment to education in the city of Chicago, the Principal for a Day program has been around since 1998. The program partners public schools with local businesses and organizations to foster deep, long-running relationships. The schools benefit through financial, in-kind, and service donations. The partners benefit by being involved with great schools and great kids. The energy is infectious!
Franklin Fine Arts was lucky to have three Principals For a Day this year: Dr. Mimis Cohen, Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago; Alderman Vi Daley, and OTMRA Executive Director John Blick.
The American Association of Plastic Surgeons donated bicycle helmets to all the students and OTMRA donated draw-string knapsacks. If you are looking for a positive and rich experience, consider supporting Franklin Fine Arts. Donations and volunteers are always accepted!
