What really moves us | | Have you ever wondered what makes people move to a retirement community? Do you wonder what might move you? We asked some of our residents to share their stories.
 John and Jean Slonecker
For John and Jean Slonecker, the decision to move to Emerald Heights was based on their desire for a Type A contract, the active and involved residents and the beautiful campus.
Q. What were the deciding factors that led you to move to a retirement community? And to Emerald Heights in particular?
The people here. They are happy and involved. As we shopped, we knew we wanted a full Type A Continuing Care Retirement Community. And we loved the campus, off by itself yet so near the advantages of the city.
Q. Now that you live here, have you found additional advantages?
The food!
Also, when something goes wrong in the apartment, I just call maintenance and they come and fix it!
I am glad we chose a smaller home, because we really live our lives in all the common areas of the community. We could have gotten by with an even smaller space. Our apartment is where we curl up with a book or sleep. The rest of the day is spent in the meeting rooms and dining room or on the bus somewhere for an event or shopping trip.
