It's a small, small world

Life may be bigger here... but it's still a small, small world.

I thought I had the ultimate "small world story" when I discovered that the woman who bought our house was actually moving in to Emerald Heights RIGHT across the hall from me! What a small world.

Then my friend Gen topped it with an incredible story of her own.

what_moves_usWhat really moves us

Have you ever wondered what makes people move to a retirement community? Do you wonder what might move you? We asked some of our residents to share their stories.

Lindbloms Gordon & Ellie Lindblom

For Gordon and Ellie Lindblom, the decision to move to Emerald Heights was based on personal experience, personal values and a desire to be near to their children.

Q. What were the deciding factors that led you to move to a retirement community? And to Emerald Heights in particular?

"My aunt lived in a similar community, and we were totally familiar with the concept of life care communities," explains Gordon. "We were particularly interested in living in the area because our kids weren't going to move to Florida any time soon."

"We also had a list of conditions it had to have like being a nonprofit and having residents as voting members on its board of directors," he continues.

"We were on the list for six years, and then our house sold," Gordon recalls. "We had thought we would move to an apartment first and then to Emerald Heights, but we decided moving once was a better option."

Q. Now that you live here, have your expectations been fulfilled?

"This is such a welcoming community, and it has been so easy to fit in," says Ellie. "In fact, I have had to learn to say 'no' so that I am not too busy!"

Pass it on! If you would like to share information about Emerald Heights with your friends or family members, we invite you to forward this e-mail using the link below.
