groundbreaking Residents, staff and board members gathered on August 23 for a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new $7.8 million Fitness Center, expected to open in 2012. The new center will be more than twice the size of the current Fitness Center, to accommodate growing resident interest in the community's exercise and wellness programs.

The deciding factor

"What made you move here?"

That's something I am asked all the time.

And I suspect that most people are not just making conversation. They are on a fact-finding mission and perhaps asking themselves similar questions: "When should I move? What would it take for me to decide that moving to a retirement community was right for me?"

I think that making such a life-changing decision is a fascinating process, and it seems like each of us needs to take our own path. But I asked some fellow residents to share their stories, and I came away with some insight.

Click here to learn what they told me.

Visit Marilyn's blog anytime. And if you have a question or comment, please send her an e-mail. She'd love to hear from you!
