January/February 2011
Greetings!

How are you doing on your new year's resolutions? Are you one of the many Americans who resolve to take better care of yourself and then find your motivation waning right about now?

In this issue, two residents who have taken advantage of our Personal Training program to help them stay on track with their fitness goals share their stories. Imagine what you could accomplish with your own personal trainer just steps away!

If you haven't yet attended one of our Master Plan: A Vision for Expansion meetings, be sure to sign up for one of these new dates. As CEO Lisa Hardy explains in her blog, your feedback makes a difference.

Then resident blogger Marilyn Farrell reflects on how the dinner hour has become a wonderful chance to connect with friends, get to know new residents, and share the highlights of the day. She's never quite sure who she'll encounter.

Finally, you may have noticed my name, Sharon Howell, as the sender of this e-mail. Marta Willson has left her position at Emerald Heights to pursue some other interests. We wish her all the best! As I join the Emerald Heights team in her place, I look forward to getting to know you personally and helping answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to call me at 425-556-8168, e-mail me or visit.

Enjoy!

Transforming lives one session at a time

Does exercise really make any difference? Could an expert help improve the quality of your life with some simple tips?

If you ask Peg Mingus, Betty Vail or the many other residents seeking Personal Training at Emerald Heights these days, the answers will be a resounding yes.

Read the whole story online to learn how residents are moving from wheelchair to walker to cane... and more.
