Greetings!

Happy holidays! In this issue, we celebrate the season and give you some dates to mark on your 2011 calendar. If you haven't yet attended one of our Master Plan: A Vision for Expansion meetings, be sure to sign up for one of these new dates. We need your input!

CEO Lisa Hardy reflects on her family's holiday traditions and reveals a treasured cookie recipe.

Then resident blogger Marilyn Farrell shares how a little plate of cookies can make big changes. Then she shares a slide show of the holiday decor she's been enjoying on campus.

Finally, we've got a story to tickle your funny bone. Hint: "Ho! Ho! Ho!" isn't just for Santa anymore.

Enjoy!

Q&A with Lisa Hardy:
Holiday Traditions

This month, CEO Lisa Hardy reveals her earliest holiday memory with her grandparents, the traditions she cherishes today and has passed down to her daughters, and her favorite parts of the holiday celebrations at Emerald Heights.

If you're doing any baking this week, you'll want to get a copy of her family's Chocolate Crinkle recipe!

The Cookie Effect

You may have heard of the "Butterfly Effect," where an action as small as a butterfly flapping its wings can have profound effects on a system over time.

Well, just this month at Emerald Heights, I have witnessed what I like to call the "Cookie Effect." One small change in the daily routine at Emerald Heights has brought some wonderful and completely unexpected changes! Click here to learn more.

Also: 'Tis the season to decorate! And everywhere you look at Emerald Heights, your eyes will delight in festive decor celebrating all the winter holidays. I grabbed my camera and snapped photos of some of my favorites. Click here for my slide show!

Visit Marilyn's blog anytime. And if you have a question or comment, please send her an e-mail. She'd love to hear from you!

Laughter Yoga

Participants in Marilyn Fogelquist's Laughter Yoga class are feeling quite jolly this season. The class combines intentional, playful laughs with deep breathing exercises to deliver powerful benefits, including improved oxygen levels in the body, improved lung capacity and reduced stress levels. View the Redmond Reporter's video story on the Laughter Yoga class, and discover for yourself just how infectious laughter can be. Ho! Ho! Ho!
