CEO Blog: Pathways & Milestones

CEO Lisa Hardy launches monthly blog
When Lisa Hardy took some time away from her usually hectic schedule of meetings to join the Outdoor Club on some recent outings, one resident told her that more people should get to know her outside the office... that the chance to share what she was thinking and to hear what other people wanted to know was valuable. She took that to heart and has launched this blog to help residents and future residents get to know her and to learn more about any major developments in the community. She welcomes you to e-mail her with comments and questions. Click here for the rest of the story. |

Outdoor Club hits the trail this summer
This year, a hearty and enthusiastic group
of Emerald Heights residents, aged 72 to 94, have been hitting
the trails throughout the Pacific Northwest.
The Emerald Heights Outdoor Club, under the guidance of Resident
Services Director Laura Dahlstrom, was established this year, after a resident survey revealed a strong interest in outdoor activities.
At monthly meetings, residents suggest hiking
destinations, and then Laura tailors the hikes to meet their
interests and abilities. On a monthly basis, she offers one
easy outing, like a trip to Discovery Park or Saint Edwards
Park, and one moderate-to-difficult hike, like the steep Rattle
Snake Ridge trail or the Naches Loop at Mount Rainier. Click here for the full story. Click here for a slide show of photos taken by -- and of -- resident hikers this summer.

Resident Blog: My So-Called Retirement
|
|
Can we talk? Let's start a conversation about retirement
I have this idea about my blog. I want it to be a place that people can turn to get an insider's view of life in a retirement community. I also want it to be a place people can ask questions, seek advice and share their wisdom. But I can't make that happen without you. Click here to learn more about the letter from Martha O'Keefe that started me thinking. Artwork: Putting my photos on display
This week I am busy collecting some of my favorite photographs and creating a display for the Art Wall. Fellow photographer and new Emerald Heights resident Sue Palmer will be displaying her photos as well, and we invite you to come see the show! Click here for details. You can even see a slide show of my images here. Visit my blog anytime. And if you have a question or comment, please send me an e-mail. I'd love to hear from you! |
