"They remind me of Brainquest cards!" That was
one person's reaction to this winter's Talkabout, a set of colorful cards
connected with a sturdy grommet. Families will enjoy having the Talkabout on the supper table, a nightstand, or even in the van. It's an easy
way to put this quarter's theme--"The Word Among Us"--among them!
The Talkabout sparks family faith talk and
action around the weekly Gather 'Round Bible stories and themes throughout the
quarter, and includes brief scripture references, prayers, trivia, and more.
The following prayer is provided for session 9:
Sing this table grace to the tune of "Jesus Loves
Me."
(Verse):
God, we thank you for our food.
Thank you for the sun above.
We are glad to be with friends,
and we thank you for your love.
(Chorus):
God, we say thank you (repeat three times),
for all your loving care.

Engage the brain
|

This winter, as children, youth, and adults
experience the theme "The Word Among Us," they'll have many opportunities to
learn how the Word of God is made known to us through the life and ministry of
Jesus. After hearing the dramatic story of Jesus feeding the five thousand in
session 9, all ages will be invited to connect to the story through discussion,
activities, and more.
Middler children will learn how even small
actions can bring significant results as they read the article "A little + God
= a lot!" and will continue this thinking as they solve a puzzle called
"Multiplying Math." Use these resources to teach children in grades 3-5 in a
way that is fun and stimulating for them.
