Who's teaching teachers?
Gather 'Round teachers and leaders work hard to nurture faith in children, but they need nurturing too. Gather 'Round has many resources to help encourage teachers and prepare them for ministry. Look for these resources to help teachers grow in faith:

Connect WinterConnect is a Gather 'Round Bible study for parents, caregivers, or other adults. Gather 'Round teachers find that the weekly content and brief daily devotions offer inspiration and enrichment.

Bible insights are brief articles included with each session to help teachers better understand the weekly Bible story. This feature provides an opportunity for the teacher to learn about and be inspired by the scripture text.

If you are a teacher, seek out these resources and share them with others. If you are a pastor or Christian education leader, take time to be sure the teachers in your congregation are aware of and have easy access to these materials.

Teacher planning tip

Follow the lead of one congregation in Big Creek, Oklahoma, by having a midweek Bible study just for teachers to help prepare them for Sunday.

Do teachers and parents in your congregation feel comfortable praying with children? Not all adults have practiced guiding others in prayer. The Winter 2008-09 issue of Connect--the Gather 'Round Bible study for parents and caregivers--offers some great ideas to help adults get started and build confidence at home or at church.

Gather 'Round is a Bible-based curriculum nurturing children, youth, and adults in becoming followers of Jesus: people who know and love God, interpret God's word, belong to God's gathered community, and share God's good news. It is a joint project of Brethren Press (Church of the Brethren) and Mennonite Publishing Network (Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite Church Canada).
