 Talkabout Winter

The Talkabout is the key "take-home" resource for Gather 'Round curriculum. But the Talkabout is a "take-home" that is really an "at-home." Each quarter a colorful new three-dimensional item offers simple and fun suggestions for engaging families around the weekly Bible themes.

What's your plan for making sure the Talkabout reaches each household? Here are a few suggestions that have been successful for others:

1. Attach a colorful note of encouragement and instruction to the Talkabout.

2. Ask your pastor to hold up and dedicate the new Talkabout at the start of the quarter, as you hand them out to families.

3. Plan a children's story at the beginning of the quarter, highlighting the new Gather 'Round theme.

Hand out the new Talkabout at the end of the time, or just after worship.

Go to www.gatherround.org/talkabout/suggestions in the Gather 'Round Handbook for resources to support these ideas, and more.

Flexible, Adaptable Multiage
 Multiage Teacher Guide Winter
Multiage Winter Together

Teachers are also discovering just how flexible and adaptable Multiage materials are. Since all Gather 'Round age groups focus on the same Bible story each week, some Middler and Primary teachers are using the Multiage books alongside their regular teacher's guides. They mix and match ideas to provide the best fit for their particular groups. Check with your teachers to be sure they know about the Multiage option. Find sample sessions from the Multiage teacher's guides and student book at www.gatherround.org/freesamplesessions.

Gather 'Round is a Bible-based curriculum nurturing children, youth, and adults in becoming followers of Jesus: people who know and love God, interpret God's word, belong to God's gathered community, and share God's good news. It is a joint project of Brethren Press (Church of the Brethren) and Mennonite Publishing Network (Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite Church Canada).
