Elementary Music
Save the date! Thursday, Oct. 28th at 6 PM We will be doing a music program featuring the 1st and 3rd graders. We will be doing a multi-cultural program with songs in other languages. If students have folk costumes or authentic dress from other cultures, they are encouraged to wear them that night. Otherwise just dress nice (school picture nice). NO HEELS (trip hazard on choral risers). We will be doing songs in Spanish, Japanese, and African. Some songs are in English, but the tune is from other countries. The third graders will be doing some songs they did at the Peace Plaza in September. Mrs. Demmitt |

8th Grade Update
No appointment is necessary for the 8th grade parent teacher conferences. Please feel free to arrive anytime between 4:00 - 7:00 (conferences end at 7:00) on the nights of Thursday, November 4 or Tuesday, November 9. The conferences will be held in the cafeteria. A folder with progress reports from all teachers will have been prepared for the conference. First, please pick up the folder and then proceed to any teacher you wish to have a conference. Please feel free to see as many, if any, teachers you wish to conference with. If available, teachers will also be walking around to be sure you know that we are there for you to ask questions about your child's progress in our classes and in the school. This is an extremely important appointment since this is the last parent teacher conference before you make the choice for high school and high school classes. Student attendance is strongly urged but not mandatory. We hope you will benefit and enjoy the venue for this parent teacher conferences. All Rockford Public High Schools use this model as well. We have found that with today's busy and overbooked lifestyles, parents enjoy the ability to attend at any time during these evenings. We look forward to seeing every parent of our students. As always, the eighth grade team thanks you for your help and support whether it be calling your student in absent, corresponding with us via e-mail or making sure your child realizes the expectations and responsibilities associated with the gifted program. We also thank you for the supplies you have given us this year but Mrs. Maklezow has some experiments coming up soon in Science and could use some more paper towels. Please supply some if you can!
