Maine Diner Fans Flock to Vinny's to Watch our Diners Drive-ins and Dives Debut!

Vinny's East Coast Grille in Ogunquit was packed to the rafters August 9th as family, friends and well-wishers of the Maine Diner gathered for a premiere party to watch the Maine Diner star in a segment on Food Network's popular national TV show Diners Drive-ins and Dives.

It was standing room only at the restaurant to watch the episode, filled with cameras and people who have supported the Maine Diner for more than two decades. Video Creations was on location to film the event, which was also streamed live on the Internet. A special commemorative t-shirt was handed out and the crowd christened the evening with a champagne toast.

The Maine Diner -well-known as an award-winning family-owned restaurant on Route 1 offering its hallmark hospitality, speedy service and hearty home-cooking- was selected from a national pool of celebrated eateries to star in an episode entitled "Old Time Attitude." The Food Network's production crew and host Guy Fieri filmed the segment on location around Memorial Day.

Prior to the airing that evening, brothers and co-owners Myles and Dick Henry gave a heartfelt thank you to their employees, friends and family for the years of support and hard work.

"We are beyond thrilled to have our story broadcasted to the rest of the country and we couldn't have gotten to this point without the commitment from the folks in this room and the support of our patrons near and far," Myles Henry said.

Henry, a fan of the show for years says he loves how the program highlights unique, independent operations that reflect distinctive regional cuisines. The Maine Diner distinguished itself in the country with its flavorful family recipes. Three dishes were featured on the show; Seafood Chowder, Lobster Pie and New England Codfish Cakes. You can check out the episode on youTube or flip through or facebook album here.
