Maine Diner to Appear on the Food Network's
Television Production Crew Filmed Segment over Memorial Day Weekend
Lights, camera, action!!
The Maine Diner will be featured in an upcoming segment of the Food Network's popular TV series "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" with host Guy Fieri in the next few months. The production crew was recently at the Diner on Route 1 filming over a two-day period starting on May 30.
It has been an incredible year for the Maine Diner: receiving the 2010 Maine Restaurant Association's Restaurateur of the Year Award; winning the New England Cable Network's (NECN) Best Diner in New England contest; being invited to become part of the prestigious 2nd Annual New Orleans Roadfood Festival; and then being chosen for the national Diners, Drive-ins and Dives TV Show...all of these accolades on top of serving more than 5 million customers, another major milestone in the Diner's history.
An airing date has not been set yet, but typically occurs within six months of taping. Maine Diner Co-Owner Myles Henry said Food Network officials will contact the Diner 28 days in advance of the show airing; he in turn will notify all the Maine Diner customers via e-mail (sign up here!), facebook wall and homepage of website!

New England Cable Network Viewers Choose Maine Diner as Top Eatery in the Northeast!

The Maine Diner has stepped up on the awards podium once again winning their latest accolade of Best Diner in New England in Week 5 of New England Cable Network (NECN's) "Baby,You're the Best!" contest. The contest series highlights viewers' top picks in everything from beaches to burgers.
The Maine Diner was initially nominated for the NECN award by viewers from across New England. Diners which got the most votes were placed on a ballot and then that ballot was voted upon to choose the winners. Of 3,200 votes cast over a week period, the Maine Diner garnered 37% of the vote, edging out diners from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
"It is a great feeling that we have so much local and regional support from our loyal customers. We are deeply grateful," Myles Henry, co-owner of the Maine Diner with his brother Dick, said. "Of course it is a team effort to win these awards. Our entire staff is loyal and hard-working and part of our family. It is a credit to them that we serve as many people as we do in such great style."
Voters cited great food, a positive atmosphere and friendly, fast service as reasons why the Maine Diner was so deserving of their vote.
Southern Maine in general so far is cleaning up in this contest series! Wild Willy's in York won Best Burger and Ogunquit Beach won as best beach in New England. Up for a NECN vote now is our Route 1 neighbor Congdon's Doughnuts of Wells for Best Local Donut Shop. We want to congratulate Congdon's for celebrating their 55th anniversary this year and we encourage you to check in at NECN and cast your vote for them! Good luck Congdons! | |

The Maine Diner is open on a new summer schedule! Beginning on Friday, May 28th, the diner is open everyday from 7 am until 9 pm.
