THE NEUROMUSCULAR CENTER, Inc.

                                                           March 2011

Hi there!

I am a Soft Tissue Therapist with a background in dance, movement therapy, massage, nutrition, and strength training.

I have taught anatomy and movement at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Marymount Manhattan College, in Europe, and in my own NeuroMuscular Movement Therapy trainings based on Body-Mind Centering®.

My center at 148 West 23rd Street, opened in 1990 in Chelsea (NYC), offers a warm setting where I work with people with
sports injuries, restricted movement, neuromuscular conditions, repetitive stress, and misalignment, including TMJ.

I may be able to help you or your patients.

I combine exercise, nutrition, and hands-on treatment to enhance your health! Hope you can experience this for yourself!

all the best, Sara

I will talk to you about your medical history, measure your symmetry, and discuss goals. On a massage table. I break up restrictions by stretching fascia, pressing trigger points, and increasing range of motion. You lengthen, feel more aligned and more alive, and find your own grace and ease when you get off the table after 50 minutes!

CLIENT GETS BETTER!!

My client, a psychoanalyst and Clinical Professor at Cornell-Weill Medical Colledge, had this to report: "I am thrilled to say I am about 85 - 90% pain free. I no longer require repeated doses of Advil, and I am ready to start a more strenuous work-out routine.

"I came to see Sara after months of discomfort on my right side, primarily in my right thigh (which was causing me to limp when I tried to put weight on that leg) and my right arm (which hurt most of the time). I finally decided to do something about it when I knew I was going on a trip that entailed climbing up and down ruins in Greece and Turkey.

I did not have a long time with Sara before that trip but  even a short period with her, including her truly wonderful therapeutic massage and exercises made a huge difference before my trip. I could travel through Greece and Turkey climbing up and down the ruins without missing a pebble for 10 days!

When my friend referred me to Sara, I was told that she is a "healer." I was rather dubious about that but willing to try anything at the time.
I am happy to say that Sara is indeed a healer and a lovely person as well."

  Class: The Experience of Mouthing:

baby's mouth  4   SATURDAY mornings from MARCH 19, 2011 (10 - 12:00 am

at The NeuroMuscular Center in Chelsea, NYC

 148 W. 23 St. NYC

When we are born our perceptions help us bond to our mothers, discover our selves, and create relationships to others and the world.
A  healthy baby turns towards the breast to nurse, draws in the breast with suction, and places the tongue against the nipple to flatten it on the roof of the mouth. This action sets the tone of the entire body, and the foundation for future whole-body coordination and language development. Learn about the movement of the head, tongue, jaw, and its implications in your personal development, which you can use in your work with others if you are in the educational or health fields.

We will study the anatomy, reflexes, function and relationships of the mouth to who we are. We will palpate the inside of our mouths, experience our bodies moving when nourishing ourselves, and look at the placement of the tongue and TMJ when swallowing.

Future classes in balancing, hearing, visioning, smelling, touching and proprioception to be scheduled, which will lead to certification in  BODY KNOW-HOW, a program I am developing.

Call 212.242.4962, email: svogeler@mac.com to register, or use the discount coupon below for PayPal. $100 for 4 classes, or register now with PayPal for $75.

Lower Cancer Risk by Balancing Hormones

If you agree that some cancers result from too much estrogen, one way to prevent this is to monitor your hormones and then balance them. The best way to monitor them is to use saliva, which measures the free fraction of the hormone as it passes through your tissues. Since hormones are fat soluble (made from your cholesterol), measuring hormones via blood (which is water soluble) is less accurate, less direct, and more costly as the hormone has to be bound to a protein to be in the bloodstream.

I would recommend that you have your hormone levels evaluated by saliva testing, if you live outside of New York. Too much estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone can cause cell proliferation and lead to breast, uterine, or prostate cancer. For more information on natural hormones, read Pat's advice at a yahoo group online, and come see me with your doctor's reports in hand. I can work with you to create more alternatives, and find natural solutions to feel better.

In the meantime, to lower your risk of cancer, add selenium, vitamins A, B, and C and Iodoral in the right amounts to your regimen. Selenium is a potent antioxidant, and free radical scavenger.  Iodoral can reduce fibrocystic disease of the breast and uterus. However,  I would need to work with you one-on-one to tell you what was the right amount for you by kinesiological muscle testing.

Balancing hormones leads to well-being emotionally and physically. Weight loss, bone strength, energy level, and happiness depend on the right amounts of hormones, food, exercise, and relaxation. I can help with these.  When you come for an appointment, we will look together at natural ways to reduce pain, eat better, and raise energy.  I can give you the information you need to make good decisions, in combination with deep tissue massage.

Come in before March 15, 2011 for a private consultation in optimizing your health. This would be a great gift for someone you care about!! Private consultations cost $200. New clients reading this can pay $150. A series of 5 follow-ups will be discounted to $500 from $625. (Follow-ups are usually $125.)
