Intergenerational teams recently competed for prizes and eternal glory in the First Annual Highlandtown Art Cart Derby--think soapbox derby meets art cars. The event was sponsored by BCF as part of its Neighbors in Deed initiative. View event photos     

The number of five-year-olds ready for school in our city has increased dramatically since 2002, nearly tripling to 67%. But the other 30% will start their school careers already needing to catch up when they haven't even begun the race.  Read the full commentary
