Our Soul Adventures.... UPCOMING TRIPS

Honduras - Aug 8-16, 2009
Indonesia - Aug 22-29, 2009
Australia   - Sep 3-6, 2009
Brazil        - Nov 2009

Copan Ruínas & Roatan Island, HONDURAS
with Yoga Instructor Laura Downing, of San Diego, CA
Spend your first 4 nights in an exceptionally beautiful, eco-friendly restored, family Hacienda, with yoga practices overlooking the Mayan Ruins across the river valley, time with a local Shaman, and exquisitely delicious 4-course cuisine... followed by your next 4 nights beach side, in a lovely resort home tucked in the trees at shore's edge - we will practice yoga overlooking the Caribbean Sea.  Side adventures will include natural hot springs, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, horseback riding, and more.

Ubud & Nusa Lembongan, BALI  - Indonesia
with Yoga Instructor Jo Tastula, of Venice Beach, CA / Freemantle, W.A.
There is a very good reason why everyone always raves about Bali...  with its artistic heart residing in the village of Ubud... hand-made offerings line the streets, monkeys fill the forest, and rice terraces highlight just about every part of the local landscape... we will spend our first 4 nights here, followed by 3 more nights on the island of Nusa Lembongan, overlooking turquoise blue paradise... with opportunities to explore an off-shore surf break, snorkeling, or simply sunbathe at your leisure.

Mountains of Queensland, AUSTRALIA
with Yoga Instructor Jo Tastula, of Venice Beach, CA / Freemantle, W.A.
Tucked high up in the mountains, where the Atherton Tablelands meet the Daintree; where you can retreat into eco-friendly timber cabins; where you are only a 25 minute drive from Port Douglas, and access to the Great Barrier Reef, awaits the ultimate 4-day, 3-night mountain spa retreat getaway.  Indulge on scrumptious foods made by our retreat chef and pamper yourself with massages and other spa sessions!

Brazil
We are considering leading an island-hopping trip to Bahia, Brazil in November 2009... if you have a serious interest in taking a trip there, and may have time available during this month, then please let us know, and we'll begin to plan a trip based on Soul Adventurers interest!

On each of the above mentioned journeys, you will have the opportunity to relax, sleep and unwind, or take to daily adventures - your choice!  Each of these journeys will offer at least two yoga practices each day and the opportunity to select your eco-adventures.  The bios for each of our fantastic yoga instructors can be found on the respective itineraries, and Kate (Global Soul Adventure's founder) will be with us to facilitate all of the trip logistics, general guiding and coordination with local guides for anything else you may seek to do during your retreat.  The yoga style is Vinyasa Flow, and is open to all levels.

Something to play with...  Experiencing another style of Yoga
Do you ever find yourself happily in a ritual of always experiencing the same style of yoga? Do you ever have curiosity to explore another style of yoga? ...for example, if you practice Flow Yoga - have you ever practiced Iyengar, Bikram, Kundalini, Power Yoga, Core Fusion, Anasura, Forrest, Yin Yoga, Acro Yoga or any other style?  Why not take a little adventure over to another teacher or studio this month to treat yourself to 1 class of adventure.  You have nothing to lose... and possibly lots of laughter, insight, inspiration and gratitude (for the style you love... or this new style) to gain.  All of these styles  branch from similar "roots"... into a common asana "trunk"... with very unique (stylistic) "branches."

Did you know?... Monthly Travel Tip:  Packing Light
One of the most challenging parts of travel, especially international travel, is learning to PACK LIGHT!!!!!  Packing can sometimes cause a lot of stress and anxiety for travelers, as they try to ensure they bring everything they need...
which is one reason why we always provide a packing list for our Global Soul Adventures trips!

If you are creating a trip of your own and feel that you'll have to sit on top of the suitcase or backpack to zip it shut, then it may be time to remove some items (especially if it's a checked-luggage piece.)  Packing light will help to save you from strain on your back and arms, overweight luggage fees, and blocks to your spontaneous spirit.  Shorter internal flights tend to have lower weight allowances than international flights, and the flexibility you have while traveling will somewhat depend upon what you are carrying with you.  You can always travel with the intent that you'll just purchase extra clothing if you need it.... and you'll be surprised how you will most likely justify that you don't need the new clothes after all.   Here's a handful of quick tips to assist you:

1.  Pack items that will dry quickly and plan to hand wash them so you can reuse them during the trip
2.  Pack as you wish, and then force yourself to remove at least 1 item from every category
3.  Write your list in advance, and be creative with the combinations of outfits you can create
4.  Limit the number of shoes you bring - ONLY bring what is necessary, vs. lavish - you're a traveler!
5.  Take only 1/2 to 1/4 of the shampoos, lotions, and other heavy weight toiletries you use

And if all else fails.... hire a travel caddy to carry it for you!  :)
