ToolTrends October 2010 |
Greetings |
Early Autumn greetings from Connecticut. It has been quite sometime since a Newsletter has been sent to you. We have been experiencing a positive change in sales since we have last been in contact by newsletter and hope that the final quarter of 2010 also remains strong for the industry.

A new Somma catalog in the works
|
We are working on the next release of the Somma catalog, #2011. It will be available in January or February 2011. New products will be featured, while discontinued, obsolete items will be removed.
|
Discontinued Items / Closeout Specials / 40% Off!
|
For the past year we have been phasing out a number of products in our catalog due to minimal sales. Instead of immediately removing them from our inventory we are instead offering them as "Closeout Specials" with a discount of 40% off the current list prices. These products are brand new and many have been sold during the past year. The discontinued list includes Recess Tool Holders, Skive Tool Holders, Center Setting Gages for circular tools, Scribe Cheks, Thread Roll Holders, Kwik Form Tool Holders, Jacobs Chuck Style Drill Holders, Grinding Arbors, Scissors Type Knurl Holders, and Split Type Adjustable Collars. Click on the following link for details: Closeout Specials

New Packaging
|
You may have noticed that we are gradually changing the packaging of our products. In our on going efforts to reduce costs, stay lean, and evolve to green, we are phasing out the traditional Somma blue printed boxes. We have been switching to basic white boxes with Somma labels affixed to them. We are also using sealed bags for some of our tooling where appropriate. Your comments are welcome regarding the new packaging of Somma.

HSS T Type Cut Off Blades / Prices reduced
|
Please note that the prices of our M2 High Speed Steel T Type Cut Off Blades have been significantly reduced this past summer. We continually monitor our pricing and costing and have found that we were able to lower the M2 prices as a result of increased sales and larger make quantities. Now is a great time to buy Somma T Type Cut-Off Blades, especially because we have an excellent inventory of most size blades, and a quick turnaround of non-stocked blades. See pages 28-31 of catalog 2009.

Standard Circular and Dovetail Blanks / Special Circular and Dovetail Blanks

multi spindle machines. They are available from stock in M2, M42, T15PM,
and 76PM High Speed Steel materials. We also regularly quote and
manufacture other materials upon request and special dimensioned
circular and dovetail blanks. Even carbide tipped blanks and circular
blanks with a reamed ID or with side teeth for multi spindle machines
can be quoted upon request with prompt turn around times. Send us your
