My Family
|
It's that time of year when people are shopping, baking, wrapping their gifts, cleaning their homes and looking forward to seeing friends and family. That sounds good. I am going to shop tomorrow, won't be baking anything since my oven started on fire yesterday, and as far as cleaning goes, I am going to clean out my suitcase from my last trip so I can pack it for another.
I am really looking forward to seeing my family on Christmas and luckily only have to travel 5 miles to get there. On Christmas day we travel to see Bahgat's family and that is only 6000 miles and about 22 hours before we arrive. We will be spending New Year's Eve on a cruise on the Nile River. That should be memorable.
It has been a great year this year for the Elsagher family. We had two additional members living with us to take the place of the kids that went off to college. My 14 year old nephew Kareem lives with us and my brother-in-law Medhat has been with us. John and Jehan will be going with us to Egypt and I relish the time together for 2 weeks over their college break.
Thanks to all my clients this year for inviting me to your hospitals, medical labs, clinics, churches, cancer survivor, wellness and ostomy related events. Thanks for your purchases of my books; it helps pay the college tuition! I have been working on another book coming out in June called, It's in the Bag and Under the Covers. Stories of dating, intimacy, sex and care giving for people with ostomies. Just when I thought I was done writing about ostomies, another great idea came my way. I thank all the contributing authors who have so bravely shared their personal stories. This is a groundbreaking book and people tell their truths, painful and joyful. I am getting a reputation for bringing things out in the open that have been closeted detrimentally for too long. It is liberating for so many.
I did a lot of traveling this year from coast to coast and saw many beautiful states and a couple of oceans. I am so grateful that my message is still of value to so many because I love making people laugh. Thanks for the many kind notes, phone calls, emails and face book messages you send to me and please keep staying in touch. Enjoy the holidays, your family and friends. What is more precious in life than to love God and one another? With love, peace, joy and a happy new year!
