From the Desk of:
COL Francisco Rentas, Director, ASBPO

This year has seen our family of military blood bankers, staff, blood donors, and every individual who shares our passion for the mission, overcome many formidable challenges.  One of our biggest accomplishments this year has been the business transformation initiative for our program, resulting in an ASBP Strategic Plan that will guide our program through 2012.  This plan will be published early in the New Year on the ASBP website and is already available through your SBPOs.

I am so proud and so grateful for the dedication that all have shown and am eagerly looking forward to the year ahead.

From the ASBPO family to you and yours around the world, I wish everyone the most blessed of holidays.

Warm regards,
COL Francisco Rentas

A message from LCDR Aaron J. Harding, MSC, USN
Director, CENTCOM Joint Theater Blood Program:

"Grace and peace be with each of you and your families this Christmas and holiday season; and especially as we celebrate the passing of another year and the possibilities of the one ahead.

We cannot change the past, but we can change the future, one interaction, one person at a time.

Happy holidays."

Welcoming and Well-Decorated

Robertson Blood Center at Ft. Hood, TX knows how to celebrate the holidays. Even their doors partake in the spirit of the season. Their annual door decorating contest is sure to please those donating during the holidays. What a great way to say "Welcome!"

Sending out season's greetings from the staff at Robertson Blood Center, Ft. Hood, Texas.

Giving is Bliss

"As the Christmas season unfolds in our homes and lives, the ASBP at Ft. Bliss, wants to wish each and every one of you a Happy Holiday season.

We are very grateful for your support during 2009.  Your donations to the ASBP have saved numerous lives of those dedicated to serving their country and their family members.  One single battlefield injury can require 40 units of blood.  With your support, we were able to provide over 5,000 units of blood from Ft. Bliss, White Sands, Holloman AFB, Kirtland AFB, Colorado Springs and Ft. Huachuca.

Thank you to all of our donors, volunteers and supporters in 2009.  Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season."

From the staff at William Beaumont Army Medical Center Blood Center, Ft. Bliss, Texas.
