The Road Home
This is one of my latest paintings. I am doing a series with roads in them. This one is the Sea Road, where I live. Frank and his dog Teddy do a regular ciruit on this route to Six Mile Point, the Breaches and back. One day last week they stopped and posed while I plonked them in my picture.Those in the know agree that Frank looks like Frank but that Teddy doesn't even look like a labrador. It's a dog's life.

Greetings!
As if I wasn't doing enough already, I have signed up for the People's Art Exhibition on St. Stephen's Green in Dublin tomorrow, and all over the weekend. It's quite a big adventure for me, as I am always extremely challenged when surrounded by things I can't do- lifting, hanging, packing - all part of the outdoor air fair.
However, by now, noon on Thursday, my car is packed and i am ready to go. My trusty team is in place, and although not one of us has done anything like this before, we are all fearless and excited.
I am over doing the planning of course... I think it's called "displacement activity"- it's what I do when surrounded by things I can't do anything about... so I fiddle with my computer. I have created a plan (see below)as to how the paintings will look on the railings of the Green. What chance of the paintings being hung in this order  is anyone's guess.
I have been allocated a spot on the south side, opposite the University church - number 66. I might be able to move to a spot closer to Grafton Street if a place becomes available.

The thought of all this moving 'n' shifting causes me fierce anxiety, and so I will go back to my Photoshop image and fiddle with that for another while.

Well, of course I looked it up - more displacement activity for sure. Here is the definition "an animal or human activity that seems inappropriate to the context, such as head-scratching when one is confused, considered to arise unconsciously when a conflict between antagonistic urges cannot be resolved".
