GSCA International Conference and Trade Show September 25-27 -- Chattanooga, Tennessee Giant screen film community prof'l development sessions and trade show at the Tennessee Aquarium and IMAX 3D Theater. Sept 24 pre-session: Giant Screen 101. IMERSA is active within GSCA as the interests, exhibition formats and content for planetariums and science centers continue to overlap and converge.
Dome Day (in conjunction with GSCA Conference) September 28 -- Birmingham, Alabama Hosted by McWane Science Center
SATE 2010 September 30 - October 1 -- Orlando, Florida Hosted by Universal Studios The annual SATE Conference given by TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) will explore new
high-profile, immersive
guest experiences with top creators at theme parks and museums, including
Universal Studios (Harry Potter),
the new Fort Worth Museum of Science
&
History, The National World
War II Museum in New Orleans (Beyond All Boundaries) and
Walt Disney Imagineering. IMERSA has a cooperative relationship with TEA.
ASTC Annual Conference October 6-8 -- Honolulu, Hawaii Hosted by the Bishop Museum Presented by the Association of Science Technology Centers, conference topics include Hawaii's sky connection;
cultural connections to the sky; science visualization/planetariums of
the future; audience engagement: live presentations in the Dome; and a
vendor showcase. Participants will also be given a tour inside some of
the premier observatories atop Maunakea and dine with astronomers at the
9,000 ft. elevation level.
Post-conference event:Digital Full-Dome Film Festival at 'Imiloa Astronomy Center 5-10 October including
new programs from the California Academy of Sciences, Sky-Skan, Mirage 3D, Evans & Sutherland, AMNH,
and more. Pre-registration and separate admission required.
2010 GLPA Conference October 20-23 -- South Bend, Indiana The Great Lakes Planetarium Assn will hold its annual conference at the University of Notre Dame, and present new works in the Digital Visualization Theater (DVT) at the Jordan Hall of Science. The DVT is a Sky-Skan definiti theater.
2010 International Planetarium Movie Festival 29-31 October 2010 -- Gwacheon, Korea
Gwacheon National Science museum hosts.
