Greetings!
We're bombarded by messages about how we look, what we should drive, who we should vote for and what we need to buy. Even messages we can't see and hear are passed through our bodies constantly with wireless technology.
But what about encouraging messages about connecting to Spirit? Messages that touch the heart and let us know that we're not alone?
These questions inspired me to create . . . .
MESSAGES - - Love, Hope and Healing in Spirit. Through this e-zine, we'll be able to share the wonder of communication, how we can know that those we love are with us and reminders that we're all in this together.
Even after years of working as a medium, I'm still in awe (and always will be). And now I would like to share life-changing heart to spirit experiences with you on a more regular basis.
Sharing goes both ways, though. Help me by sharing your own experiences. A number of you have already sent emails to me about how messages during sessions have made a difference in your life. I'd like to share some of those experiences with other readers. Also, please let me know what topics you'd like me to discuss and questions about life on the other side that you'd like answered.
More than 5, 000 people are receiving this first issue of MESSAGES. Some of you have met me at large events, some at small, others in private sessions and many have heard messages I've given over the radio. I'm hoping that through this e-zine our community of hope will grow even more.

| Spirit Thoughts about Labor Day |
 According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the first celebration of the holiday was on Tuesday, September 5, 1882 in New York City in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. In 1885, the holiday was moved to the first Monday in September and was sponsored by unions in other U.S. industrial centers. The "workingmen's holiday" was born.
As we celebrate this Labor Day and the last hurrah of summer, I got to thinking about what spirits say about work. Do they have jobs over there? Or is it like one long summer vacation in "Summerland?" Are they resting in peace? Or working hard to help us make the world a better place to live?
Well, the answer to all these questions is "YES!"
What spirits say about work is as varied as each person's experience while here on the earth plane. Sometimes we choose to work at what we love or work at things we never got to try.
Just this past week, I spoke with a mother in spirit who showed me the rose garden she tended in heaven. I was startled by the picture she showed me in my mind - - the colors were beyond possible. She made it a point to show me that she was running between the bushes. The daughter confirmed that her mother had won prizes and ribbons for her roses and it was a great loss when arthritis crippled her to the point of not being able to tend to them . And for you avid gardeners, she made it clear that no weeding was needed in heaven!
I've heard stories from the other side of young men and women who pursue careers they barely got started here. A young man killed while in medical school told his parents that he was helping doctors in underdeveloped countries - - a dream that he had shared with them before passing. A young woman in spirit mentioned guiding the choices of a pet rescue organization her parents founded in her honor. A young soldier continues to serve with his comrades and works to keep them safe.
Does anyone in heaven "rest in peace?" Well, I might have said, "no," until a lady who toiled tirelessly to raise 13 children told her daughter and sister that she was relaxing on a beach. She had passed before she could take a long planned vacation. It was a comfort to her family that she was able to enjoy her well earned respite.
There are those in spirit who tell me that they regret an obsession with work and success which separated them from friends and family. In numerous instances, those whose choices created division and pain, work now from the other side to bring about reconciliation and connection.
What makes work different on earth and in heaven is the idea of self expression. With no need to "make a living," spirits can just "make living." The church organist who devoted her lifetime to playing uplifting music can now join with all those who have ever played and cause the heavens to resound. Work becomes an expression of joy, personality and talent.
Writers on one side inspire writers on the other. Scientists on the other side lead scientists on this side to new discoveries. A grandfather who founded a family business guides a grandson as he takes the helm.
Work may never be over, but it can become an expression of our soul's purpose and a connection to generations past, present and to come.
