TWIC Enrollment has begun
The TSA along with the USCG has begun a nationwide ID program called TWIC (Transporta tion Worker Identification Credential) for all Port, Terminal, Marine Support and Vessel workers. By September 28, 2008 all Maritime workers are required to have a TWIC in order to work in the marine industry both onboard and ashore.
You may have already received information in the mail and by Email from the office about obtaining your TWIC. Enrollment for Wheelhouse personnel begins in January. Deck crew enrollment will begin in February. |

 Monthly Safety Meetings and Drills....January 2008
Your Safety Meeting /Drills book for 2008 should be onboard and ready to help you record meetings and document drills through out the year. KEEP THESE BOOKS, ONCE FILLED OUT, ON BOARD FOR 3 YEARS.
What you will find in this Book:
· Monthly Safety Meeting Report-12 copies of meeting record blanks with suggested topics to use during your meetings. Those attending sign off and a copy is sent to your crew change office.
· Monthly Emergency Drills Report-12 copies of drill record blanks with suggested drill types. Same as above, crew sign off and copy to crew change office.
· Monthly Fire Drill Report-12 copies with suggested drills as above.
· New Employee Fire Safety Orientation-13 copies of Orientation topics that must be presented to any new employees coming onboard. After Orientation, fill out, sign and send copy to crew change office.
· Quarterly Security Drill and Training Report-5 copies of USCG required security drills with suggested topics. Complete drill , fill out report, crew to sign and send copies to crew change office.
· New Employee Security Orientation Report-13 copies of Orientation topics that must be presented to any new employees coming onboard. After Orientation, fill out, sign and send copy to crew change office.
· Quarterly-Pollution Drill Report-5 copies of Pollution drill with Spill Check List. Complete drill, fill out report, crew to sign and send copies to crew change office. |
