Greetings!
I am concerned that the CTC only has 26 people signed up for the webcast on the Administrative Services Credential deliberations. There are two ways that you can get your input on these issues:
- Participate on the webcast and then complete the survey.
- Watch the webcast between June 10 and July 10 and then complete the survey after the webcast.

There will be no public forums or input sessions on the study of this credential.
At yesterday's Commission meeting, there was still a great deal of discussion about:
- The length of time one needs to be a teacher prior to obtaining the credential. Currently, it is three years. Many are pushing for a minimum of 5 years.
- The viability of an alternative exam for the Tier 1 credential.
- Mentoring/coaching for the Clear credential
If you have opinions, you need to get involved in the survey. Your input will be critical to the final deliberations of the panel and Commission. Information on how to participate is below. |

Administrative Services Credential Advisory Panel's Public Forums
The ASC Advisory Panel has been meeting for nine months "to review the content, structure and requirements for administrator preparation to ensure that these remain appropriate to the needs of administrators serving in California schools". Before making recommendations to the Commission in the fall, the panel will present their current thinking for public input on June 8th, 2011 in the Commission Room. The public forum will be broadcast live as well as archived for later viewing. The forum will take place from 10:00 am to noon. A second forum will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on June 8th should in-person registration be sufficient to indicate the need. Please register for either forum, whether you plan to attend in person at either forum or participate electronically during the morning session. Registration may be found at:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ASC_forums
Between June 10th and July 10th, the presentation may be accessed via the CTC website http://www.ctc.ca.gov/educator-prep/webcasts.html At the end of the presentation, you will receive information on how to access a limited-size comment box to provide individual input regarding the information presented. All information collected both from the forums and the on-line comments will be presented and discussed by the Advisory Panel at their next meeting.
