IBC Preview - Spotlight On DVB-T2 Lite Profile

ibc logo

Visitors to this year's IBC at the Amstredam RAI Center should not miss the opportunity to see, for the very first time, the ground breaking progress made by DVB with the DVB-T2 Lite profile. T2 Lite is a new subset of DVB-T2, the second generation and world's most advanced DTT system, which pares down DVB-T2 parameter settings to what is required for mobile/portable reception.

Additional demonstrations for the DVB-C2 and DVB-GEM specifications will highlight new applications that go beyond the usual delivery of one-way television services. A TV with an integrated DVB-C2 tuner will be shown running a VoD service as well as receiving a DVB-C2 broadcast. There is also a DVB-GEM based hybrid broadband broadcast demo where, in parallel to broadcast reception, a second video channel is delivered over the open internet.

The DVB is located in Hall 1, Stand D81

dvb world logo

2012 marks a special year in the world of digital broadcasting as it is the year where most European terrestrial TV services will switch off the analogue signals and will move exclusively to digital. The deployment of the DVB-T and DVB-T2 terrestrial standards has been a big success, inside Europe, and outside. How has DVB contributed to this success and how will it continue to do so in the future for digital TV?

Attracting more than 200 delegates from around the world, it represents both DVB member companies and non-members. It offers an unequalled opportunity to hear about the latest developments, with an emphasis on useful information and informed analysis rather than commercial pitches.
