Greetings!
Warren Buffet once said, "Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." This is what Education for Justice was created to do. As followers of Christ, we are called to see, hear, understand, and respond to the message of the gospel as it relates to the signs of the time. It is our hope and prayer that this, and future postings, will serve as welcome 'shade' needed as we ponder how best to be Jesus in today's world.
EfJ will be welcoming several guest contributors to share their expertise with us in the coming months. In this posting, Marie Dennis, Co-President of Pax Christi International, provides insight into the conflict in Syria. If you have knowledge about a topic that you would like to share with the EfJ community, please contact Sister Dianna at dortiz@coc.org. We welcome your participation!
This posting includes new resources on Syria, Tolerance, Women's Equality, the Ozone Layer, a film discussion for The Dark Knight Rises, as well as a prayer for new beginnings. There are links to a Prayer Service for the Start of a New School Year, as well as our Justice and Peace Calendar for 2012-2013. We hope that you find these resources valuable. If there are ways that we can be supportive of your work for justice, please feel free to call or email. If you are not already a member please join us now! If you have let your membership lapse please renew now! Companions on the journey for justice, Sister Dianna Ortiz and the Education for Justice Team efj@coc.org |
